TED - “The AP Kid”
In this talk Emerson Morley, a High School Sophomore, explores how to surmount learning disabilities in a world where student's worth is measured by their GPA.
“Intelligence cannot and will not ever be understood. It’s a construct to help us determine someone’s worth. How smart they are.
How dare we take such a small portion of a human being and act as if it is everything?
We pride ourselves as human beings in understanding the complex. But for a bunch of people who bank themselves on their intelligence, we are pretty dumb to think that everyone is the same simple entity that can be understood by the same equation or number.
Humankind is a beautiful, colorful data set full of outliers and variation.”
